When will it end?
It is a never-ending battle for the Randfontein municipality to fix the roads.
I pay my taxes every month and not even a month ago I had to get a set of brand-new tyres and mags costing me R8 500 because the previous set I had on my vehicle was damaged due to potholes.
I can not even drive home without having to swerve left and right. It looks like I’m a drunk person and once almost hit a taxi because of the potholes.
Last night on my way home I hit a big pothole with my brand new tyres, damaging them completely and bending the shock absorbers. I almost wrote off my car. I am just a normal person with a normal work.
The wheels are not even a month old and now are ruined. When they finally fix one hole the next one is already there.
There is not one straight road in Randfontein. And, when you want to claim it takes you almost a year to sort it out.
What do you, the municipality do in the meantime? It is a disgrace, really. The municipality will make us do things that they don’t want us to do.
