Basic Education committee wishes matrics well

We wish all candidates the best of luck with the NSC examinations.

The Portfolio Committee on Basic Education wishes all candidates well with the upcoming National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, which commenced on Monday 19 October.

Some pupils write Computer Applications Tech Paper 1 practical today while others write the Information Technology Paper 1 practical on Tuesday 20 October. The examinations for all pupils start on Monday 26 October and continue until 27 November.

We wish all candidates the best of luck with the NSC examinations. We encourage them to work hard and not to lose focus as the goal posts are in sight for them now.

A total of 801 688 pupils have been registered for the NSC examination, which includes full-time and part-time candidates. The Minister of Basic Education will announce the NSC results on 5 January 2016 the schools will release the results to candidates on 6 January 2016.

The Committee further urges parents, family members and caregivers to support candidates in every possible manner and to ensure that they have sufficient study time and a conducive environment to prepare for the examinations successfully. The Committee wish teachers and invigilators luck with the task ahead.

We want everyone to be at their best to ensure clean and credible NSC examinations for 2015.
