Postponement of metro: Facts from fiction

'It is clear from their (DA) jubilation of a decision that goes against the majority aspiration of our people.'

It is important that we are given an opportunity to help society in distinguishing facts from fiction on the Municipal Demarcation Board’s decision not to approve the establishment of a metropolitan municipality in the area of West Rand “for now”.

We have noted the falsified celebratory mood of the “Domecrats in blue” but I believe I have a responsibility to clear the air accurately.

These maparas claim to be democrats but fail to understand that the South African democracy is a Constitutional democracy.

It is important to note that the establishment of the Municipal Demarcation Board comes as a constitutional obligate for the country, subsequent is that an act is enacted as per the constitutional mandate. This Act is known as the Local Government: Municipal Demarcation Act of 1998. Unlike the DA wants society to believe, the minister responsible for Local Government, may at any time as indicated in Section 22 of the Act [request demarcation], in this case this request was made not only for the West Rand but for various municipalities across the country.

It is disingenuous and far-fetched to want society to believe that the minister was muscling the Demarcation Board, while it is allowed by law that a minister may make a request. This does not fall far from the continued imaginary fictions and hallucination beliefs that DA has held over its existence, these phantasms are not far from their racists orientation that white is right.

How can the DA be so jubilant while the MDB does acknowledge that the proposal by the minister, by the way long before the minister, to have a metro in West Rand has received unwavering support from the broader community of West Rand in the four days of public consultation by the MDB.

This unethical and anti-majoritan grouping deserves no vote from our communities. It is clear from their jubilation of a decision that goes against the majority aspiration of our people that the DA has no interest in the betterment of our communities but the continued segregated and degenerating development of our communities through economic exclusion and continued state dependency of our poor communities.

It is also clear that the U-turn and subsequent opposal of the West Rand vision 2016 by the DA was nothing but two-fold machinery of white-supremacy hanger for state power – one is that it was in their best interest to oppose the West Rand Metro proposal in solidarity with their Midvaal counterparts, secondly it was an observation that the little deploymentary muscle to use on the desperate and non-conscious blacks will be limited and their boer-foreheads will never agree to compromise and make way for the rented-dakkies.

In all but short interpretation of these white apartheid preserving grouping is that for them it was not in the interest and aspiration of the people of West Rand and their envisaged socioeconomic development but an electioning strategy gone wrong, an election campaign disfigured.
