We support West Rand metro

'Viva West Rand Metropolitan Municipality Viva'

I so like politics, I strongly believe I am a politician, but as well not everything should be politicised.

I really feel like some politicians prioritise political interests than the people who put their trust and hope on them. The good thing is that my feelings don’t matter in this subject.

I read with interest the letters from the DA politicians, from all structures they present. I must register my flabbergastion at the level of backwardness and inconsideration displayed by these politicians.

It has been decided longtime ago by the people of West Rand from all corners of the district, that the current state of fragmentation of municipalities play a huge role in delaying service delivery to the people. The system of employing five people to perform a same job hinders immensely on the tiny budget, definitely. There are many factual issues that have been constantly raised by the ANC to persuade and convince the whole community of West Rand into seeing the possibilities of growth and development that the Vision 2016 brings to our shores.

It is without any equivocation on my part that I acknowledge how DA, COPE, UDM, AZAPO and IFP etc. agreed with the vision 2016 proposal. Reading all the ANC documents about the proposal, I see nowhere where the use of language is confusing to the level that one can legitimately claim to have been tricked linguistically.

I note all the points that the DA spin doctors raise in this newspaper, their sole platform for conservative relevancy, since they fail to convince people against progress and transformation, in every gathering that ANC led government organize for democratic, open and free public deliberation on the matter.

The points indeed are not bad taste, highly spin doctored, however they are so incorrectly motivated to the extent careless people would believe that the facts are not old diagnosis. Truth is they have been publicly and openly diagnosed by the ANC membership. The ANC has openly and constructively raised and debated these issues vigorously. ANC has never shied away from constructive self-criticism on organizational matters and even on governmental challenges. In a nutshell DA must raise new challenges not the ones that the ANC is addressing by the same process they chose to oppose.

It’s a pity that the Democratic Alliance choose to posture itself as a negative, pessimistic organization in our country in general.

The people of West Rand District from all the four local municipalities have in unison proposed to be part of Gauteng and concur with the visionary organization African National Congress in prioritising socio-economic development of the region.

That is why they massively supported the establishment of a new Metropolitan Municipality in West Rand. The organization of the people has once more proven that the ordinary people matter most than selfish political interests of individuals, masqueraded as community best interests.

We remain resolute as people of West Rand and government stakeholders that Metro must come, and our economic development shall be realizable. We can’t afford perpetual postponement of West Rand development.

Viva West Rand Metropolitan Municipality Viva… Viva Gauteng City Region Viva…..
