These are just a few problems that I have noticed …

Public safety officers a waste of tax payers' money.

I write to you as a concerned resident on some issues:

Load shedding

Only half of Randfontein central doesn’t have lights whenever load shedding takes place. From Sunderland Street until Mohlakeng while the malls and shops until Sunderland Street have lights, not fair to businesses in Aureus who need to run there machinery etc.

Many businesses depend on electricity like internet cafes etc, so why only half of Randfontein?

Public Safety Officers

They patrol the streets with the bips all in one group relaxing chatting and getting paid to laze around. They haven’t prevented any crimes and are of no benefit to the public – a waste of tax payers’ money.

Thieves

Plenty of car thieves break into cars, I believe it is a group of 10 guys keeping an eye on things in your car. Some of them distract you while the others rob you. They rob bakkie at intersections as well as tyres and other valuables from the back of these vehicles. The so called public safety officers haven’t ever done anything. These thieves patrol one end of town to the other. They even attempt to steal OGF gas trucks.

Glue smokers at intersections and shops

Smoking glue at intersections and begging. These are the same glue guys tearing dustbins for plastic and messing the street. When very high they even damage cars by kicking in the doors.

These are just a few problems that I have noticed …
