Roads have exceeded their lifespan

'Poor material is used to fix our roads'

Although our roads seem not to have all that many potholes anymore, we must be honest with ourselves and realise that the municipality’s service delivery remains poor where road maintenance is concerned.

Our roads are still bumpy and the problems the municipality addressed not so long ago, such as potholes, are starting to resurface again.

This can mean only one thing to me – poor material was used to fix our roads and that’s just it.

The municipality needs accept that our roads have exceeded their lifespan and work on resurfacing them again.

If not, they always will be faced with the continuous setback of reoccurring potholes.

That on its own wastes resources and labour. Considering the municipality’s financial situation, every cent should count.
