Really, streetlights burning in broad light?

I am a Randfontein resident and I’m seriously concerned with how our municipality decides to run things in this town.

It has come to my attention that electricity is being wasted here owing to the fact that street lights throughout this town are never switched off during the day and are left to burn in broad day light.

First and foremost, it is completely unnecessary to keep street lights on during the day because that on its own constitutes to waste. It is an exercise that is completely unnecessary and wasteful. I’m really sure we are being billed for this considering that our municipality owes Eskom millions of rands.

I just wish that someone can do something about this.
