W’aria municipality restores its image

"They have been able to pull up their socks."

Let us recognise good work and give credit where it’s due.

The Westonaria Local Municipality has done well for themselves in the past few months in a sense that they have been able to pull up their socks after the much publicised service delivery protests in Bekkersdal where residents torched local libraries and damaged municipal property worth over R11 million.

This could have been reason enough for those in council to throw in the towel and give up but they didn’t. Instead they stood firm and fought until the storm passed.

If anything, they are now progressing and that’s exactly what we want to see. More and more developmental projects are being launched in Westonaria as a whole, and more work opportunities are presented to the youth.

I am proud of such things and hope they continue doing them.

You know you are doing good when the very same people who were instigating all these violent protest actions join you in your efforts.

Amandla.
