The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) needs to implement some serious measures when it comes to the quality of education at our different schools.
It cannot be correct that the pass mark for most subjects in high school is 35 per cent. I just feel that these people are more interested in the quantity of passes they get out of pupils instead of the quality of education.
However, that will not help us produce any doctors or lawyers or any heads of state. I think our children are being spoon-fed and this needs to stop.
Let us reassess the education that is being offered to our children and start making changes.
