Street lights on the R28 a problem

During the course of 2013, both Randfontein and Westonaria Municipalities went to great lengths to erect new street lights along the R28 between Randfontein and Westonaria, but after less than a year, this new street lights are not working.

I find it amusing and yet still a big concern as this piece of road is pitch black at night and this after thousands was spent on this very project.

In the past, the R28 was known as an accident hot spot and with no street lights in some areas of this roadway, I can only imagine that it is now more dangerous to travel on this road at night.

Therefore, I want to urge the municipalities of both Randfontein and Westonaria to address this problem, before it causes fatal accidents.
