Storm water drains in ruins

All over Randfontein, storm water drains next to the roads are blocked and some are badly vandalised and I cannot help but wonder if this has an impact on our roads.

Everyone in town is complaining about the condition our roads are in, but I would like to bring another problem under the municipality’s attention.

Over the past few months, Randfontein experienced heavy rains and due to the storm water drains that are blocked and vandalised the water did not have anywhere to go but to builtd up in the roads, which then caused the potholes.

Therefore I want to urge the Randfontein Local Municipality to not only fix the road surfaces as this will only fix half the problem, but also turn your attention to repairing and cleaning the storm water drains next to the roads and ensure that the water can flow off the streets and into the storm water pipe line.
