ANC: a party of threats and arrogance

Therefore I would like to emphasize to our people that they should not be easily intimidated by the ANC.

• Cope West Rand region organizer Nicodemus Phake writes:

With reference to the article “vote for the ANC or your government houses will be taken away” published in the Herald on 14 March, I want to make it clear to our people that these RDP houses do not belong to the ANC.

It is not by favour that our people have these houses but it is their constitutional right as the citizens of the Republic of South African to have basic services such as housing electricity, water and sanitation among others.

Therefore I would like to emphasize to our people that they should not be easily intimidated by the ANC.

Every commodity or item that you buy as a citizen has tax on it meaning that you are contributing to the country’s developement one way or the other.

What happens is that that tax money is collected by the South African Revenue Services (SARS) and then it goes to the Minister of Finance who then distributes the funds to the relevant departments in order to build houses, hospitals, schools, prisons and so forth,

Therefore it is rather distasteful that the ANC would want to intimidate people in order to get votes.

What I can say is that ANC people are very arrogant and disrespectful towards their voters.

Last year, the Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane told residents of Bekkersdal that the ANC does not need their dirty votes.

It then becomes clear that she undermined the people who voted her into power now she is desperately in need of these votes.

The only advice for the residents of Mohlakeng and Bekkersdal as well as people of South Africa is that they should vote for a credible, respectable and trustworthy party and that is Cope.
