Ronnie Molao is bitter, angry and frustrated

Firstly Molao needs to know that everything has a beginning and an ending.

• Cope West Rand region organiser Nicodemus Phake writes:

Kindly allow me to comment on the article that spoke of the former director of Randfontein Traffic Department Ronnie Molao slamming the Randfontein Traffic Department and calling it a Mickey Mouse department where supervision has allegedly gone to the dogs.

The story was published in the Herald on 14 March.

Firstly Molao needs to know that everything has a beginning and an ending.

Molao entered into a mutual contract with the Randfontein Local Municipality for a certain period of time.

Now that his contract has come to an end, he suddenly feels bitter, angry and frustrated because it was not renewed or extended.

As a former trade union member and a shop steward at Aranda Textile Mills, I want to give Molao free political and labour education.

The employer is not obliged to renew the contract of the employee.

It is the prerogative of the employer to renew the contract of the employee based on good service delivery, performance, dedication and devotion.

It is surprising that when he was still employed at the department he never talked bad about it, but now that he is in the cold, he talks bad about it and his accusations are nothing but sour grapes.

According to Molao, there is anarchy and lawlessness in the traffic department,

This simply oconfirms that he couldn’t display authority over his subordinates.

Unfortunately this also applies to some members of the Congress of the People (COPE) who were not re-elected at the provincial and national congress in January this.

When these comrades leave the party, they talk bad about Cope but when they were still in office, they had nothing but good things to say about the political party.

As the Cope West Rand Region Organizer, I have signed a contract of service for a specific period of time with a basic salary, airtime and traveling allowance and when my contract expires, I won’t feel bitter and angry and start badmouthing the party.

Molao needs to stop being a cry-baby and look for greener pastures elsewhere.

This is not the end of the world.

All those who are unhappy within the ANC and the DA can also come and join the Congress of the People.
