Westgold U11s crowned league cricket kings
The U11 team of Westgold Primary School was crowned Gauteng West Cricket League 4 champions.
Westgold Primary School’s U11 cricket team is undefeated in this year’s league and crowned champions.
According to school spokesperson Mariska du Plessis, the team played and won six matches.
They also participated in the semi-final of the Gauteng West Cricket League 4 on September 10 where they won against Losberg Primary School. The finals took place on September 17 and they played against Jongspan Primary School. After winning the match, the U11 team walked away with the title of league winner.
“We are extremely proud of the cricket season that Westgold has had this year. All our teams [the U9, U11 and first teams] went through and played in the final. Great work from the players and coaches,” Mariska expressed.
