Westgold Primary School is over the moon as a learner and two teachers have been selected to play and coach at the Gauteng West Cricket Festival.
Learner Asher Katazuka will represent the U11 red team and it is expected he will come up against stiff competition in his age group. The event will be taking place from September 20 to September 23.
Bennie Beyleveld and Les Eksteen (who are educators at the school) have also been chosen as coaches.
Bennie will be coaching the U11 team and Les the U12 team.
The school has since expressed its excitement.
“We are very proud of Asher and look forward to seeing him excel. Further, we are also proud of our educators’ achievements and being chosen to coach the Gauteng West teams,” said school spokesperson Mariska du Plessis.
