Successful hockey season for RHS

Randfontein High School's hockey girls have experienced a very successful hockey season thus far.

Randfontein High School (RHS) has announced the results of their most recent hockey matches.

RHS’s four hockey teams have shown dedication and endurance. The U14, U15, U16 and first team recently played five hockey matches against various schools.

Their first match was a home game against Jan de Klerk on April 11. Unfortunately, only the U16 team was able to play. The team strikingly won 3–2.

Seven days later, RHS went head-to-head with Hoërskool Wonderfontein High School’s three hockey teams. The U15 team played against Wonderfontein’s second team and triumphed 3–0. The U16 team followed in their footsteps with another run-away victory of 8–0 followed by another win for the first team and a score line of 2–0.

All four teams then had the opportunity to go head-to-head with Hoërskool Carletonville High School on April 25.

The U14 team finished an intense game with a draw while the U15 team won a nail-biter 2–1. Unfortunately, both the U16 and first team lost with score lines of 0–4 and 2–3 respectively.

On May 2, RHS faced Hoërskool Westonaria High School’s U15, U16 and first team. The U15 and U16 teams both won with a score of 1–0 while the first team lost narrowly 1–2.

RHS encountered a tough game against Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School on May 7. The U15 team won by a massive 5–0. The U16 team also did not disappoint winning 3–2. The first team then put the nail in the coffin with a big 3–0 win.

RHS currently has two upcoming hockey games. On May 16 the hockey teams will compete against Carleton Jones High School and on May 22 they will face Hoërskool Glenharvie High School.
