Educator at Jannas launches Beyond School Project for learners

With his Beyond School Project, a Jannas educator has empowered ambitious youngsters to make the right career choice.

Charl Ludick, an exemplary educator at Hoërskool Jan Viljoen High School, has organised with multiple businesses and companies to offer shadow job opportunities for ambitious grade 11 and 12 learners.

Charl has put in a great effort this past year to enrich the educational experience of Jannas learners through his innovative Beyond School Project. This community-based initiative has quickly become a beacon of inspiration for learners aspiring to explore their future careers. Charl collaborates with businesses and companies to organise shadow opportunities for learners with career aspirations. This allows ambitious learners to occupy a place in their future work environment to test the waters and experience the unfolding of their career choice.

Charl explained that the project will promote the investment of business companies in the youth sector.

As next year approaches, Charl is gearing up to continue his mission of transcending traditional classroom boundaries and providing invaluable real-world experiences for the learners.

“I started at the school at the beginning of this year and started my new project. This includes setting up shadow and job opportunities for the kids. Some learners have worked at Netcare, shadowed at dental practices, and even worked at a school for special needs. I aim to continue in 2024 and give more learners such opportunities,” Charl said.
