New RHS leaders ready to hit the ground running

The new group of RCL leaders at RHS have been chosen and are they excited about their leadership roles, now waiting with bated breath for the 2024 academic year.

Randfontein High School (RHS) has selected its group of representative council of learners (RCL) for the 2024 academic year.

The group, which consists of 10 learners, are all excited about their leadership roles and ready to wear the school badge with pride. Not only will they will serve as ambassadors of the school but they aim to set a good example for their peers.

Speaking to the Randfontein Herald in an interview, the school’s president for the 2024 academic year, Tshinakaho Tshukudu said her selection came as a surprise, however, she is ready to deliver.

Chené Wissie (public relations officer), Tshiamo Mongoegi (treasurer) and Uthandiwe Mjangqeka (vice-secretary) in the back with Lebogang Zwane (secretary), Tshinakaho Tshukudu (president) and Leseego Serobatse (vice president) in the front.

“I am geared up for my responsibilities. The candidates that were running for the presidency are very good so I didn’t think that any of the council members would think of me as their president. I’m ready to take on any challenge and carry out my duties. I’m a very resourceful individual and I feel like that is going to work to my advantage. I’m also truly grateful for this opportunity and I’m going to work hard to ensure that the entire council succeeds,” said Tshinakaho.

Qhubaphambili Nkosi has been elected as the school’s head boy and according to him, the title is not only about him but the school.

RHS deputy head boy Lefa Mokwadi and RHS deputy head girl Phebé van Zeeberg in the back with RHS head boy Qhubaphambili Nkosi as well as RHS head girl Balungile Mbulu in the front.

“Being a head boy is very subjective for me. It’s not really about being in charge of the boys of the school but more about being in charge of the entire school considering that the school is a family. I do have a team of very capable individuals by my side so even if we encounter challenges as the executive, we are bound to find a way around them, considering the individuals I have around me,” said Qhubaphambili.

Meanwhile, the head girl of the school Balungile Mbulu said she is confident in her team that they will do what is expected of them.

“Being head girl next year means we work together as a team. Commitment and teamwork are what we all that we thrive for. We promise to have a good level of honesty and integrity in carrying out our duties,” said Balungile.
