Teacher Sindisiwe Mthembu said the aim was to learn a thing or two about nature and animals.

“Learners left the school premises at approximately 07:30 for the fun ride.

We then took them to the zoo where they got to experience and learn about animals. This includes lions and tortoises and don’t forget about the crocodile, which some were brave enough to touch.

“They all had fun on the day and we are really happy to have gone on the trip with our learners,” said Sindisiwe.

She added an out-of-the-classroom experience like this is important for learners as they get to see with their naked eye some of the animals they are being taught about.
