Jannas leaders of 2023 announced

The principal reminded them to be mature and responsible leaders who believe in themselves and their goals.

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen inaugurated their newly elected Representative Council of Learners (RCL) during a prestigious event on Thursday, September 22.

RCL Head Enza Steyn said the following learners have been elected on the Executive Committee for 2023 – Presidents: Tristan Odendaal and Fayzah Samir; Vice-Presidents: MC Brown and Tsibiso Mosikidi; Secretary: Shannon Codison.

The Grade representatives are:

Grade 9:

• Karmien van Coller, Tyleen White, Danté Marx and Luthando Mpanjukelwa

Grade 10:

• Leannique Botha, Asakhe Ntlemeza, Stefan Cloete and Malibongwe Nkambule

Grade 11:

• Hestia Bouwer, Brenda Jantjies, Basetsana Kunene, Ayden Peach, Itumeleng Motitsoe and Ashton Nielsen

“The RCL of 2023 also received a very special gift in the form of Prayer Bears that were donated by NG Kerk Erfdeel in Riebeeckstad. It’s wonderful to know that the wider community also remembers our leaders in their prayers,” said Enza.

In his message to the RCL Principal Sarel Steyn urged the new RCL to take ownership of their school and their fellow learners. He reminded them to be mature and responsible leaders who believe in themselves and their goals. They have to make things happen and BE the change they want to see in the world.
