Retired teacher to launch learning centre in Mohlakeng

The learning centre assists learners with homework, extra lessons and catch-up classes at no cost.

A retired teacher who is still passionate about education has started his learning centre in Mohlakeng. The official launch will be on September 10 at the Life Changing Ministries in Mohlakeng Extension 5 at 09:00. The event is expected to attract more learners who are facing challenges with their school work.

According to Excellence Academy extra lessons and learning centre’s Director Tshidiso Motingoe, the learning centre was established in 2014.

“Our learning has been operating and helping the youth with their studies for years, and we just want to add onto that and expand our reach.

We want to launch it officially so we can attract more young people who need help with their studies,” said Motingoe.

The learning centre assists learners with homework, extra lessons and catch-up classes at no cost.

It also helps secure learnerships for students who are qualified in their respective fields but are without employment.

This is done by exposing them to companies who offer them skills development training.

These learners will then walk away with a certificate of competence which puts them in a better position to secure employment or start their own businesses.
