Help abandoned children have a memorable Christmas

Baby G Safe Haven needs the community's help to make their children's Christmas special.

Baby G Safe Haven, a non-profit organisation for abandoned children in Randfontein, needs the community’s help to make their children’s Christmas a festive season to remember.

According to founder Zelda Bierman, Christmas is an important time for the organisation.

“Christmas is a Christian institution and we celebrate Jesus’ birth and give glory to Him. We as a family are so blessed with such fantastic people who reach out and make a difference. We were invited to a very nice Christmas dinner with a special person who opened her heart and home to us. She is very special to us,” she said.

Even though they will be celebrating Christmas with a heartfelt feast, the organisation is still in need of donations to make the Christmas experience come to life.

Zelda appealed for donations such as funds to hire a Santa Clause suit, funds for snacks and decorations, party buckets and volunteers. She added it would also be helpful if anyone could donate diapers, school bags, clothing and stationery.

She mentioned the children look forward to receiving presents, however, the organisation always tries to teach each child the real importance of Christmas.

“We teach the children about how God cares for us even though we are not a normal family. We teach them that we are not a normal family but rather a family with plenty of brothers and sisters,” she explained.
