Pharmacy and clinic emphasise the importance of health screenings

Free screening offered to the community with the opening of a new clinic and pharmacy.

Philani Pharmacy in Simunye in conjunction with the Molly Memorial Health Care Centre medical clinic in Westonaria recently offered free screening for various illnesses.

The founder of the clinic, Lesego Kujane, explained they screened for HIV, blood pressure, glucose, weight and haemoglobin. She continued to say early detection is very important as people can start treatment immediately and not wait until the last minute which could be too late.

She has worked in a local clinic since 2016 and has noticed many people do not adhere to their treatments. She further stated the government is doing all it can, but unfortunately, it cannot meet the need.

The founder of the pharmacy, Phumlani Ndlovu, added the community needs to know their health status as early as possible.
