People Helping People fight for the needy

Despite limited resources, an NPO still tries to help, however, they need the community's support or it won't be possible anymore.

A Good Samaritan is on a daily mission to reach out to the community, however, he needs financing to continue his kind work.

McKenzie Tselaekae, the founder of the People Helping People organisation, explained they handed out food to the homeless on July 11, however, he was unable to feed everyone who showed up. He noted 47 people showed up but he was only able to feed 30 and he couldn’t buy more food.

“It’s taking a lot from my pocket because I have to remain consistent to help them. I will continue helping them but it won’t be a regular thing, unfortunately,” he said.

He noted he is not employed so he tries to help others with ‘whatever [he] gets whenever [he] gets it’.

“I have a great vision for how I want to move forward with this but I need help from the community. I also want to help girls in schools with pads and such.”

He is still in need of financial help and volunteers. Any person who would like to extend a helping hand can contact McKenzie on 067 869 3337 or 069 596 5505.
