Fire breaks out at clothing retail store in W’aria
Fire breaks out in the storeroom of a clothing retail store in Westonaria.
The Rand West Emergency Services Fire Department said it responded to a fire that broke out at a clothing retail store on Wednesday, July 10.
According to fire chief Bennie Mohlabeng, they received an emergency call at about 14:00.
“The storeroom had caught fire and we were able to contain the fire. No one was injured during the fire and the structure is still standing. Unfortunately, clothes and boxes were destroyed. The store as well as the shops next to it are also safe.”
He added they continued to fight the blaze until about 20:00 as the concern was the many boxes.
“Risk management then came to investigate the cause of the fire. An investigation is ongoing,” he concluded.
