Benji the missing dog has been found and is currently being treated with injections to ensure he stays healthy.

Director of Animal Aid Warriors Naomi de Beer, stated that the owner’s brother contacted her on June 26 with good news that Benji had been found safe.

Due to the circumstances under which Benji got lost, Naomi has confirmed that Benji will not be staying with his previous owner.

“We circulated Benji’s photo as missing on social media, to which we received no response. The Randfontein Herald published an article for us to help locate Benji. Three hours after the article appeared on the Herald’s Facebook page, the son of the lady where Benji was, contacted us,” Naomi said.

Naomi explained that Benji was very happy to see her and he showered her with plenty of kisses.

Even though the outcome of Benji’s story was positive, many pet owners do not get to experience the same outcome.

“You have to microchip your pet because that is the only thing giving your dog a voice. If your pet does go missing, try to spread the word as fast as possible with a photo and details. Don’t search for your dog alone, ask the community for help!” Naomi said.
