SPCA in need of assistance this winter

The SPCA needs the community's support with donations during the winter time.

The RandWest SPCA needs the community’s help to keep their fur babies warm this winter.

The manager at the SPCA, René van Straten, explained they need 2lt bottles along with blankets and cleaning materials including thick bleach and pine gel.

She noted they put warm water in the bottles and put it in the kennels with the animals to help keep them warm.

“Animals feel the cold the same way we do. If we are cold, the animals are also cold.”

She advised the community to keep their animals indoors during the cold nights. For other animals, such as farm animals, be sure they are secure against the wind and weather. Make sure they have enough hay to also offer them more resistance against the cold.

“We want to thank the community that has already made donations during the winter.”
