Why bother to vote on May 29? Residents speak

Randfontein residents explain why their votes matter.

The Randfontein Herald hit the streets to find out from residents why they will bother to vote come May 29.

Maria Diselo stated that one’s vote is your voice. She further explained it is important to vote as it is your only opportunity to have a say and bring change n the country.

Kobus Kaoks.

Another resident, Kobus Kaoks, disagrees saying that regardless if a person votes or not, the residents will still not get work opportunities or housing. Kobus claimed that it is the people who do not vote that get housing. Despite this, he will still be voting in the elections.

Elize Rieck.

“You have to vote otherwise your vote goes to the ruling party. We are voting for our children’s future. We do not have a choice if we want to see our children flourish,” Elize Rieck continued.

Hennie Albertyn.

Hennie Albertyn added he will vote to ensure a new governing party will be elected. He also claimed that in 2024 especially, every individual’s vote is vital.

Trust Mncube.

“It is important to vote for another party so that we can change who governs this country,” Trust Mncube said.
