Care centre asks community’s help with winter donations

Wings of Inspiration Care Centre is asking the community to open their hearts and reach out during the winter time.

With winter on our doorstep, the Wings of Inspiration Care Centre is urgently in need of winter goodies for its residents.

One of the founders, Anthea da Costa, explained they need winter blankets, which is a large concern, winter clothing and shoes for both adults and children, blankets for their Dog Rescue Centre, toiletries and medicine such as Vicks and Med-Lemon. She noted they also need mielie meal and rice.

She continued the donations will be distributed between their elderly care centre, old age homes as well as their frail care centres, women’s and children’s shelters, dog rescue, daycare centres and soup kitchen.

According to Anthea, the biggest concern is not just the current residents in their centres, but also the new residents that are joining. It creates a ripple effect, she explained.

Any person who wants to donate can drop it off at one of their care centres and they will distribute the donations or their driver can collect them. Anthea can be contacted on 071 829 1293.

“Thank you to the community for all the support, without you, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do,” said Anthea.
