Rand West City Library hosted its first All About Mzansi Quiz
The Rand West City Library crowned three winners in its recent All About Mzansi Quiz.
The Rand West City Library hosted its first All About Mzansi Quiz to celebrate South African Library Week.
The competition was held recently at the Ramosa Hall where 16 schools were invited to participate and encouraged to develop a culture of reading. The quiz was based on general knowledge about South Africa.
The winner of the competition was Avante Primary learner Lesedi Mashigoanae. Botle Pitso took second place and Nkosinathi Sangxu took third place.
“Learners displayed great knowledge about South Africa and displayed the hard work and support of their educators. The event was a great success. It highlighted the importance of encouraging learners to learn more about our country and to be proud South Africans,” a statement from the library’s communications read.
The 16 schools that participated were Zuurbekom, Hartzstraat, Modderfontein, Kamogelo, Avante, Thuto Bokamoso, Malerato, Izanokhanyo, Matlapaneng, Westonaria, Toekomsrus, Setholela, Gerritz Marais, Brandvlei, Sedimosang and Tswelelo.
