A twice-abandoned dog needs a new home

No More Tears Animal Rescue is pleading with the community to adopt Jan who has been abandoned twice.

Jan, a German shepherd cross-breed aged between four and six years old, is No More Tears Animal Rescue’s longest resident.

According to the organisation’s director Riana Cronje, Jan was abandoned twice.

Riana explained that “Jan has been in the shelter since November 2023. However, Jan had been in the shelter a few years ago as well. This comes after Jan was found beside the road abandoned by his previous owners.”

Cronje added that Jan had to endure weeks on the streets before No More Tears found him.

The organisation now wants to find Jan a forever home.

“Jan is such a loving dog towards humans. When you approach the kennels you can see his pure excitement. He has such lovely hair and used to be groomed regularly by former owners. Unfortunately, those owners claim he bit one of their cats so Jan was let go,” Cronje said.

Jan is currently at the kennels in Tarlton and Cronje appeals to the community for assistance in finding Jan a new owner.
