Easter fun with Wings elders

Residents from all Wings of Inspiration centres came together to celebrate Easter in true hip hop fashion.

The Wings of Inspiration family recently held their annual Easter fun weekend at the elderly care entre in Randgate.

One of the Wings of Inspiration founders, Kirsten Richardson, explained it was a day full of partying where they gave elder residents a chance to get out, enjoy some delicious Easter eggs and just have some fun.

She said it reminded the elderly that their golden years are not behind them.

“It was a very exciting day where everyone dressed up and danced to their heart’s content. We do something like this for every special occasion. We are a family and Easter is a special time to be celebrated together,” said Kirsten.

The day also marked one of their younger residents’ birthdays and they welcomed the team from Fresh FM to their Wings family.

The children all got to spend time with the Easter bunny.

According to Kirsten, Fresh FM visited on the day to entertain guests. They are also one of the sponsors along with Gogab.

She explained Wings of Inspiration opened its doors in 2016. She and her sister Anthea da Costa gave their hearts to the Lord and decided to make a difference in the lives of others. They currently have 11 houses, including the elderly care centre, their women’s shelter, their recovery centre, and their dog rescue centre.
