Improving education in Rand West City with special programme

Various schools in the Rand West City area will be collaborating with business leaders from the private sector in a development programme for 12 months.

Citizen Leader Lab, a registered NPO, is expanding and implementing the Leaders for Education Programme in Rand West City.

The NPO confirmed that it will be expanding one of its programmes to Rand West City on March 14 to address the need for collaboration between public schools and private businesses.

This is according to Zah’Rah Khan, editorial head and writer who stated that the programme’s research-based approach shows a commitment to achieving practical results.

“This expansion aims to improve public education by using the expertise and resources of the business community. Strengthening the ties between schools and their communities is a key focus, promoting greater community involvement in supporting schools,” Zah’Rah said.

A school principal affiliated with the Citizen Leader Lab’s Leaders for Education (formerly Partners for Possibility) programme shares her school’s challenges and solutions with business leaders.

She further explained that the expansion demonstrates a proactive response to educational challenges and a strategic effort to drive positive change in South Africa.

Zah’Rahn added this collaboration will ensure the confrontation of challenges encountered by the respective schools as a means to strengthen the relationship between schools and the community. The process will be facilitated by Chivonne Abrahams, a Gordon Institute of Business Science certified professional coach with over nine years of experience.

The organisation’s primary goal is to cultivate responsible leadership in the public sector.

“Recognising that a well-functioning public sector is essential for societal success, we invest in this domain to nurture a prosperous future for all South Africans. With 13 years of programme implementation and engagement with over 3 800 leaders, our focus has centred on public education. Particularly working alongside school principals,” Zah’Rahn concluded.
