Help find these kittens a happy home

The sanctuary has taken in new kittens and puppies and needs the community's help to care for these fur babies and their other animals.

The Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary has taken in new kittens and puppies but needs avid animal lovers in the community to give them a happy home.

Louisa Rossouw, owner and founder of the sanctuary, explained they trapped feral cats two weeks ago and took in the kittens to prevent them from becoming wild. They then rehome them at eight weeks.

“A feral cat is an unsocialised outdoor cat who has either never had any physical contact with humans, or human contact has diminished over enough time that she is no longer accustomed to it. Most feral cats are fearful of people and are not likely to ever become a lap cat or enjoy living indoors,” explained Louisa.

She further noted they also need good food for the little felines and donations for vet bills.

“The kittens are always seen at our vet immediately and given a good dewormer,” said Louisa.

She added in the past week, they also took in 16 puppies of which 10 are bottle babies. They too need good nutrition and puppy milk.

“They have been given vaccinations for four weeks now and we need urgent funds for that.”

Louisa explained that their organisation opened its doors in 2018 to help neglected animals off the streets.

“We rehabilitate them and give them medical attention including deworming, vaccinations, parasite control, microchips and sterilisations, after which they are rehomed.”

She added they are currently taking care of 160 dogs and 220 cats.
