Lenmed hosts pregnancy awareness event

Lenmed Private Hospital hosted an informative event for pregnancy awareness.

Lenmed Private Hospital recently hosted a pregnancy awareness event for soon-to-be moms.

Besides sharing some health tips, Lancet Laboratories and Pathcare set up stalls to give away all sorts of gifts for attendees.

Programme director Tsholofelo Radebe first welcomed everyone and unit manager of the maternity ward, Ntaoleng Mazini, explained the importance of the event.

Lancet Laboratories gave away goodies like lip balm, sanitiser, pens and water to the attendees. Pictured are Funanani Davhara and Bella van Wyk.

Physiotherapist Stella Tobias continued the afternoon’s informative session by sharing insight regarding pregnancy physiotherapy.

Stella emphasised that pregnant women do need the assistance of a physiotherapist after giving birth since it helps to reduce pain in the main joints that are commonly strained during pregnancy.

Gynaecologist Yves Kakudji speaks about the importance of detecting problems already present or that can develop in pregnant women.

Thereafter, gynaecologist Yves Kakudji explained the benefits of visiting the gynaecologists throughout the three trimesters. He also spoke about the importance of antenatal care, which is the health care of pregnant women before the birth of their babies.

Pathcare also gave away gifts, pens, torches and many more. Smiling at the Herald is Goodness Soqasha.

Light snacks were also served during the informative speeches. The attending women stood a chance to win a gift if they answered a few questions correctly.
