Disruptive rainfall expected over Gauteng on Thursday afternoon and Friday

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall this afternoon, January 11.

In their post on X (previously known as Twitter), it stated that Gauteng and eastern North West are expected to receive rain which could result in localised flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements, low-lying roads, and bridges including short-term disruptions to municipal services.

SAWS also issued a Yellow Level 2 and Yellow Level 4 warning for Friday, January 12 which could also result in localised flooding of susceptible formal/ informal settlements, low-lying roads, and bridges including short-term disruptions to municipal services.
