Westgold and SPCA strengthen bonds

The local SPCA made efforts to educate learners of Westgold Primary School and in return, received a big donation.

The RandWest SPCA recently visited Westgold Primary School to educate learners about animal welfare. They were also spoilt with donations by learners.

Inspector René van Straten first spoke to all learners of Westgold Primary as a means of making them aware of the SPCA, who they are, and what they stand for. The SPCA then discussed the importance of taking care of animals as well as educated learners about animal cruelty and who to report the matter to.

The learners of Westgold Primary made multiple donations to support the SPCA’s cause with Mariska du Plessis, the school spokesperson thanking teacher Renche Nel who arranged the initiative.

“Together, we can make a difference,” Mariska said.
