More than 120 food packs handed out to kids in Toekies

The purpose of the event was to give back and engage with local children to inform them of their rights.

The Myburgh Foundation celebrated National Children’s Day in style and handed out 125 sweet treat packs and hotdogs to children in Toekomsrus.

This was on November 4 and according to the government, the National Children’s Day celebration aims to highlight progress being made towards the realisation and promotion of the rights of children.

Myburgh Foundation founder and operations manager Randy Christian said they also took some time to engage with children.

“We hosted a safety talk to inform children of their rights and the importance of good behavior and discipline in school, as well as in their homes. Seeing the gratitude of the kids during this initiative struck pulled at my heartstrings. As we approach the festive season, it is important to give back to vulnerable children in our society.

“We would like to thank our volunteers as well as Member of Parliament Jane Mananiso for their commitment to ensuring success on the day,” added Christian.

He added that anyone interested in partnering with the foundation in any way can contact them on 062 591 2268.
