Condolences pouring in for Toekomsrus pastor killed during Newlands shooting

The pastor was killed when a group of men stormed into a church while he was busy preaching.

Messages of condolences are pouring for the Gordon family after Toekomsrus pastor Dwayne Gordon was shot and killed during a church service.

This was on the evening of October 6 at Eagles Christian Centre in Newlands, where Gordon was a guest speaker.

It is believed that a group of men stormed into the church and opened fire, killing Gordon and injuring three others.

A live stream of the shooting was widely shared on social media where people were heard screaming.

Jeandre Davids said, “No words can describe the pain my heart is feeling right now. I miss you already so much. May your beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. I love you so much, Dwayne Gordon.”

Meanwhile, Prophet Anointed Benard also shared his condolences.

“You were a great servant of God, prophet Dwayne Gordon, such a humble soul you were. I’m deeply hurt by your passing; I pray that God strengthens your family and friends in this difficult time.”

The Randfontein Herald contacted police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi who was not immediately available for comment.
