LETTER: ‘Fix our town or don’t get land taxes anymore’
Resident says it is time Randfontein stands together and stops paying land taxes.

We as a community are rising for our rights and fairness. We are soon going to arrange a public Randfontein resident’s meeting and want to attract all residents who are paying land taxes to rather pay land taxes to Oom Piet, or whoever is fixing our infrastructure, instead of the local municipality.
If all residents don’t pay that part to the municipality they will be in trouble soon. So instead of paying our land taxes to a municipality that doesn’t fix anything, we will make sure all residents’ hard-earned money will be used accordingly for what it’s meant to be.
It is time Randfontein stands together and stops paying land taxes. We can use it for what it’s meant to be instead.
Randfontein residents are planning to use their land taxes to fix their own infrastructure, something that the municipality is not doing.
We will use our hard-earned land taxes and fix it ourselves. We will not pay land taxes anymore to a municipality that can’t show results.
