Myburgh Foundation takes youth on educational trip

The trip formed part of their mentorship programme and was aimed at educating the youth about the consequences that come with engaging in social ills.

The Myburgh Foundation is determined to instill good behaviour among the youth and embarked on an educational trip to the Walter Sisulu Child and Youth Care Centre with some of the youngsters from the Toekomsrus community.

This was on September 23 and the trip formed part of their mentorship programme.

Myburgh Foundation founder and operations manager Randy Christian said the trip was eye-opening, to say the least.

“The aim was to make our youth aware of the consequences of making uninformed decisions as well as the dangers of drug use and engaging in criminal activities. Our youth had a tour of the facility and also entertained the children and staff with a powerful play and dancing session.

“The staff at the centre was very friendly and gave our youth valuable information,” said Christian, who added that they are thankful to the management and staff at the centre.
