REM principal under investigation
The Gauteng Department of Education is aware and deeply concerned about the allegations levelled against the principal of Randfontein Primary School.
The principal of Randfontein Primary School, known as REM, is being investigated, the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) confirmed. This follows a string of allegations made which involve alleged corruption and money laundering.
The damning allegations were brought to the Randfontein Herald’s attention recently by a reliable source who does not wish to be mentioned.
As a result, the Herald approached GDE spokesperson Steve Mabona for comment regarding the allegations.
The Herald asked a set of questions including whether or not they are aware of the allegations levelled against the head of the school, as well as what action would come from this if he is to be found guilty.
Although Mabona couldn’t get into too much detail regarding the nature of the allegations, he did confirm an investigation is underway.
“The department is aware and deeply concerned about the allegations levelled against the principal of Randfontein Primary School. We have since launched an investigation into the allegation and the outcome will be communicated accordingly,” Mabona stated.
