Resident a true Bok fan

The Springboks played one game against Scotland and came out victorious. They will be playing against Romania on September 17.

Resident Candice Bhana is a true Springboks fan and is behind the national team every step of the way and hopes that the Boks will bag a win in all of their games in the Rugby World Cup.

This became evident when the Randfontein Herald had a chat with her recently, as she shared that her recent rugby spirit has seemingly rubbed off on her entire family.

So far, the Springboks played one game against Scotland and came out victorious on September 10. They will be playing against Romania on September 17, and Candice is hoping for another win.

According to her, her blood is green and gold, and will always support the national team.

“I fell in love with rugby from way back when Madiba brought the nation together when the Boks won the 1995 World Cup on our home soil. I love my country and everything about it, especially the AmaBokoboko and ‘ek is ‘n bok’,” said Candice.

Asked what she thinks of the Springboks win against Scotland, Candice said she was thrilled on the day and is happy that they’ve bagged a win.

She added that although they came out victorious, it is important for them to keep an eye on the ball.

“It was an awesome start but it’s still early days as we all know anything can happen in sports and cup games, it’s all about who wants it the most on match day. My family and I will be watching all the games very closely and we are hoping for the Boks to bring it home and not another country.

“Argentina is the dark horse in this World Cup so if we don’t win it, then they can have this trophy,” said the excited Candice.

She added that whatever the outcome, she will always be proud of the Boks and how far they’ve come as a team.
