Young female author writes inspirational book

Relebohile Mokheseng (24) is young but full of inspiration and has written a book hoping to assist other people facing challenges in life.

Westonaria resident and female author Relebohile Mokheseng has written a book hoping to inspire people from different parts of the country.

“The aim is to give people strength whenever faced with a challenge in life,” she said.

Mokheseng currently works in retail but is determined to make it big in literature and have her book displayed in different bookstores across the country.

The 24-year-old spoke to the Randfontein Herald regarding her book titled …And we met again expressing how excited she was to have completed it.

It currently comes in a soft copy but she is hopeful to have hard copies printed soon, which will make it accessible to a larger audience.
Using a different character, Amanda, the book takes a narrative that is similar to her childhood and speaks about how Amanda was able to overcome some of the challenges she faced growing up.

It also speaks about how she falls in love with a young man she knew from childhood and how their love grew from there on.

Asked what inspired her to write the book, Mokheseng spoke about how she and her family felt unloved and unwanted in society due to rumours that spiraled out of control in their village in the Eastern Cape and how this led them to relocate to Gauteng. She was just 13 years old.

Although having had a fresh start then, she felt as though they should have faced their challenges head-on, instead of relocating.

Mokheseng said that she wants to tell her story and hopes that her childhood traumas can be a motivation to those who may be in the same position as her and push through.

“I’m a person who loves reading and writing and I’d also like to think that I am a phenomenal woman at heart. I’ve always wanted to write a book of my own, to get an opportunity to tell a story similar to mine, which left me traumatised, at a young age. I believe that it will one day inspire those that are in the same position as me and give people hope not to give up. Life is full of challenges and it’s always better to face them head-on, than opting to run away or even relocate,” said Mokheseng.
