Parts of Venterspost without water for weeks

The municipality's spokesperson said the downtime is currently unknown but hopes that water will soon be restored to affected residents.

Residents of Venterspost have allegedly been without water for almost a month.

The Randfontein Herald has recently been inundated with phone calls from residents who brought this to our attention and said they are finding it difficult living without the precious resource.

The matter was also confirmed by Rand West City Local Municipality spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa who said that they are attending to the problem with the urgency that it deserves.

“We have been notified about the challenge in question and our team from the relevant department is currently on site, working on solving the problem. However, I can confirm that all residents are without water. It’s only a few sections that have been affected and we do not take the matter lightly. As a result, we have provided water tankers to affected sections and the downtime is currently not known,” said Montshiwa, who added that an update will be provided as more information becomes available from the relevant team.

The Herald will do an in-depth report regarding this and will look at residents’ struggles of being without water for the period in question.
