Pump failure leads to water supply issues in Glenharvie

Residents of Glenharvie have been urged to be patient as the water supply is to be fully restored by the end of today (August 1) – that is if everything goes according to plan.

Glenharvie residents are urged to hang in there as the water supply will soon be restored to affected areas.

This comes after a water pump failure at the Glenharvie pump station which left residents with little to no water in some areas since July 31.

Rand West City Local Municipality spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa said contractors are working hard to resolve the issue.

“Please be advised that contractors are continuing with the pump failure repairs. We expect it to be done by the end of today (August 1). Once the repairs are complete, we will run regular tests to ensure the pump operates properly. We will inform residents of any issues that may arise during the testing process. We will be able to restart the pump and restore normal operation if everything goes according to plan,” said Montshiwa, who added that they apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
