The deadline is looming for parents and guardians who wish to secure a spot for their Grade One or Grade Eight child at a school in 2024.
The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) announced that the online admissions application period for these two grades will be closing at midnight on Friday, July 21.
The closing date was initially scheduled for July 14 but was extended to July 21 after the GDE noticed that some parents prefer submitting their documents at schools. At the time of announcing the extension, GDE spokesperson Steve Mabona said the move was aimed at allowing parents and guardians to submit documents after the school recess.
“Parents now have until July 21 to apply and will be allowed to upload or submit documents until July 28,” he said.
He added that certified copies of documents are required within seven school days and parents are urged to upload these documents on the system to one school or deliver to all schools applied to.
