People with dogs and cats from in and around the Rand West region have an opportunity to have their four-legged friends vaccinated free of charge.
This will be through a vaccination drive by the RandWest SPCA which will be held in a veld opposite the Umphakathi Mall entrance on Mandela Day (July 18).
RandWest SPCA manager Naomi de Beer said the vaccination drive is from 10:00 until 14:00. She also explained the importance behind this.
“The major goal of veterinary vaccines is to improve the health and welfare of companion animals. Vaccinations are commonly used to protect pets from highly contagious and deadly diseases such as rabies, parvovirus, distemper, and kennel cough.
“It is therefore very important to vaccinate animals on a continuous base,” said De Beer, who added the vaccines will be done by state veterinarians.
