RandWest SPCA holds successful outreach in Brandvlei

They taught basic education on animal welfare and how to improve the quality of life of the community's animals.

The RandWest SPCA recently had an outreach in Badirilie, Brandvlei.

Inspector Rene van Straten said they held the outreach because it’s one of their biggest priorities to reach out to the less privileged areas.

They taught basic education on animal welfare and how to improve the life quality of the community’s animals.

“I was thrilled to see that the majority of this community already tries their utmost best to improve the living conditions of their animals based on our previous education and guidance that was given through previous outreaches. They were very open towards us which made me happy to know they do care for their animals and welcome any assistance for their animals.”

She added that they try to do outreaches every second week, but they can’t always do so.

“Awareness is the biggest objective, not only for guidance on how to take care of animals but for the community to know that animal cruelty can be reported, they don’t have to turn a blind eye and neglected animals can be assisted.”
