Local Samaritan makes national headlines for his work

Mohlakeng's Mandla Hamnca was interviewed on SABC 1's show Daily, where he spoke about some of the work that he does for the community.

The kind and giving efforts of Mahlakeng’s good Samaritan, Mandla Hamnca have not gone unnoticed and have attracted the attention of national media.

This became evident when Mandla was interviewed on Monday (19 June) on SABC 1’s show Daily, where he spoke about some of the work that he does for the community.

Speaking to the Herald, Mandla said that although he does not do it for the media attention, he is thrilled that what he does is being recognised.

“I really am happy to have been featured on such a platform, which highlighted my efforts in helping the less fortunate.

“I am really passionate about helping the homeless community, as well as those who are from disadvantaged backgrounds, and this goes to show that my efforts are not in vain.

“If anything, this gives me hope that my actions will one day have a ripple effect and will inspire others, to do the same and change more people’s lives.

“I am just thankful to God for all that I can do,” he said. He is also the founder of Proud Fathers, which is a non-profit organisation aimed at helping the less fortunate.

The Herald has been following Mandla’s efforts and has seen him feed the homeless, buy them clothes and wash their feet.

These are but some of the many initiatives he has had over the months, which were all aimed at making the homeless feel loved and accepted.
